We strive to run on time so you won’t be kept waiting, and we ask you to arrive for your appointments on time as well. We understand that you are busy, and your time is valuable to us. Dr. Fung only deviates from her schedule in the event of dental emergencies that need to be taken care of immediately.
Once we have decided on a treatment plan and have worked out financial arrangements, we will do everything we can to proceed with your dental treatment on a schedule that works for you, whether that be soon or at a slower pace. We want to accommodate you.
Please call at least two business days in advance for changed appointments. Missed appointments without this notification, or repeated cancellations, will incur cancellation fees. We want to work with you to schedule convenient appointment times for your visits to our office.
Our goal is to help remove financial barriers so our patients can receive the dental care they need and desire. Prior to scheduling any treatment, we are happy to provide patients with an estimate of costs. Many patients have some type of dental insurance. In the majority of cases, we are able and pleased to assist you in maximizing these dental benefits. At your first visit, we will ask you for current insurance information. We may ask you to confirm this information at subsequent visits, so we can remain up-to-date and fully informed to serve you. Insured patients will receive cost estimates broken down by insured and uninsured costs. We ask that you pay uninsured costs the day services are rendered.
Our staff makes every effort to keep on schedule, so we respectfully ask our patients to be prompt and keep their scheduled appointments too.
Our standard policy is as follows:
We will attempt to remind patients by telephone or email prior to their dental appointment, however, please do not depend on this courtesy.
If we are unable to contact you personally, you will still be obligated to be present for your scheduled dental appointment. This time has been reserved especially for you.
If you cannot keep your reserved appointment time, we require 24 hours notice (1 business day) to avoid a charge for lost appointment time.
If you are late for your dental appointment and there is insufficient time to treat you, your dental appointment may need to be rescheduled and you may be charged. This will allow us to see other patients that are waiting for necessary treatment. Our office reserves the right to dismiss you as a patient of record after missing three (3) appointments.
For patients covered by insurance, we will accept assignment of benefits. This means that you sign the portion of your insurance that “assigns” payment to our office. Most dental insurance plans do not cover 100% of the cost of your treatment. It is because of this, and the extreme delay in receiving payment from insurance companies, that you are asked to pay your deductible and your portion of charges at the time services are rendered. All estimates are based on information provided to us by your insurance and are not a guarantee of payment. Only after a claim is submitted and reviewed by your insurance company can final payment be determined. As a courtesy to you, we file claim forms electronically, provide postage for special claims, and track claims for you.
Other Payment Options
Patients are asked to pay for services as they are provided. We accept cash, checks, debit cards, and most major credit cards. We also offer flexible financing options (see below) because we understand that monthly payments can help patients fit the costs of dental treatment into their budgets.
